Barcelona

Barcelona has long been called "the Great Enchantress" and it's easy to see why. From the twisting streets of the Gothic quarter to the broad avenues of L'Eixample, it's a city of almost endless variation. What other city would have both the Temple Expiatori de la Sagrada Família, Antoni Gaudí's extravagant (and still unfinished) cathedral, and the Museu d´Art Contemporani, the massive concrete-and-glass box by American architect Richard Meir? This is a city of art, with dozens of worthwhile museums. It's also a city of food, where sharing half a dozen plates of tapas is what friends do when they get together. But mostly it's a city of incredible beauty, and there's nothing better than strolling around to get a better look.
