Barcelona is a charming, cosmopolitan port on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. This prosperous and bilingual (Spanish and Catalan) metropolis measures up to a city such as Madrid: its museums, theaters, art galleries, and nightlife area are of an impressively high standard. Besides that, this art and design center has a lot of interesting sights to offer to its visitors. The best place to watch people go by, stroll, or simply relax, is 'Las Ramblas', a pedestrian street with dozens of outdoor cafes. Here, you’ll find flower stands, book kiosks, and small market stalls where they sell birds and small animals. You’ll also find an endlessly fascinating flowing receptacle of pageant jugglers, singers, dancers, puppeteers, sidewalk artists, living statues, and assorted oddballs on parade. Nearby is 'Place Real', with plenty of bars and restaurants, and 'Palau Guell', built by the Catalan architectural genius Antoni Gaudi in his undulating art-nouveau style. After having seen these sights, stroll the narrow winding streets of the 'Barri Gotic', the medieval Gothic quarter full of interesting tapas bars, and cafes. Check out Picasso’s old hangout, 'Els Quatre Gats', which has been renovated without losing its bohemian charm. Or head for the old Barceloneta section on the waterfront. This working-class area, which was always slightly rundown and scruffy-looking, is now packed with paella restaurants. The new beach area, which runs from Barceloneta to the Olympic Village, is much cleaner than the old beach area. Although some people believe that it has been cleaned up considerably, it might be a wise idea to stay out of the water. Fortunately, the beach itself is already a feast for the eyes (and ears), with its huge and roaring waves.

Valencia is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city on the Mediterranean coast. Once the capital of its kingdom, it is now a regional capital and Spain’s third-largest city. Surrounded by orange orchards and sandy beaches, the city enjoys year-round sunshine and has become a popular conference center. The city was founded by the Romans, taken by the Visigoths, and prospered under the Moors. Each civilization has left its mark and the historic center includes a 13th-century cathedral (La Seo) with paintings by Goya, and a splendid Gothic 15th-century silk exchange (La Lonja). However, the city is looking to the future and is now home to one of Europe’s most exciting urban development projects. Some $200m has been invested in building an immense and futuristic Arts and Science Centre ( Ciutat de les Arts I les Ciencies ) near the port area. Valencia’s mild climate is another reason to come for a stay. Its warm atmosphere is always inviting and hospitable. Ready to be enjoyed. Valencia means commerce and culture, cinema, theatre, museums, music, and business. It is acentere for industrial design and avant-garde movements. During your stay in Valencia, you will also be able to enjoy the peace of several exceptional natural sites. Between the sea and the rice paddies, closed in by two river mouths, the Albufera Natural Park is a paradise for migratory birds and a recreation area for the city. Along the coast next to the Albufera are broad sandy beaches. There are pleasant recreation areas where people come to enjoy the sun and the sea. No visit to Valencia would be complete without a taste of its ample Mediterranean cuisine based on a fertile ‘Huerta’ or market garden, and fresh fish and shellfish. The queen of local products is rice, served in an infinity of manners as the internationally acclaimed Valencian paella.

Palma is a resort city and capital of the Spanish island of Mallorca (Majorca), in the western Mediterranean. The massive Santa María cathedral, a Gothic landmark begun in the 13th century, overlooks the Bay of Palma. The adjacent Almudaina is a Moorish-style Arab fortress converted to a royal residence. West of the city, hilltop Bellver Castle is a medieval fortress with a distinctive circular shape. Most of the major buildings and monuments in Palma were constructed during the "Golden Age," between 1276 and 1344 under the rule of the Kingdom of Aragon. Among the most impressive is the graceful Gothic Cathedral, which was commissioned by King Jaime I of Aragon in 1230. Legend has it that on his way to recapture Mallorca from the Moors, Jaime the First's ship was struck by a terrible storm, and he vowed at that moment, to the Virgin Mary, that if he survived he would erect a church in her honor. He made good on his promise but it took a while. The Cathedral wasn't completed until 1601! You will find the people of Mallorca are quite charming, as their experiences have allowed them to perfect the art of hospitality. So relax and enjoy this unique multicultural island — you're in the hands of professionals.

Lying on the Eastern coast of Spain, Alicante has it all: parties, discos, festivals, castles - and if that isn't enough - hot sun, white sand beaches, and a turquoise sea. Of course, something so good can't stay hidden forever, and Alicante and the towns along the Costa Blanca (White Coast) are now among Europe's most heavily visited regions. If you want a secluded beach, or to be anywhere outdoors without being part of a crowd, don't come during the summer high season. But if you're looking for sunshine, all-night disco parties, and hundreds of thousands of potential new friends, you've come to the right place. It's best to start exploring Alicante on the beachfront, along the city's main pedestrian walkway, the Expanada de Espana. Spread out in front of the main part of the city, this elegant boulevard, stretching around the harbor, is shaded with palm trees and lined with shops and cafes. Amid this Mediterranean Xanadu, there is, sadly, one note of warning: be especially wary here of pickpockets and bag snatchers. Northwest of the Explanada, towards the center of the city, you'll see the imposing Catedral de San Nicolas, and around it, the narrow streets of the El Barro, or old quarter, which has most of the cheaper accommodation and the best nightlife. To the southwest, near the Calle de Italia, you'll find the main tourist office, post office, and the city's central bus and train stations. Alicante is a hive of activity throughout the year, not just in the summer months. It's a city where the sand seems to go on forever…and so does the entertainment. It's a city steeped in history, rich in culture, awash with every kind of shop and restaurant imaginable, and bursting with beach life. Stroll along the palm-fringed Paseo de la Explanada - the impressive seafront promenade lined with street cafes and inlaid with red, cream, and black marble. Stop at the music pavilion and enjoy a free al fresco concert by the sea. Concerts are held in the afternoons, on feast days, and on Sunday mornings during the summer months.

The town of Motril is located in the Spanish region of Andalucia on the Costa Tropical. This is the biggest town on the Costa with a thriving commercial, fishing and leisure port. Situated an hour and a half's drive east of Malaga International Airport and within easy reach of the magnificent Sierra Nevada mountain range, Motril is an ideal base for exploring the many delights of the Andalucian coastline and hinterland.You'll find Motril midway between the resorts of Malaga to the west and Almeria to the east. Nestling at the foothills of the Sierra Lujar mountains, Motril lies at the heart of the Costa Tropical which is one of the most lush and productive agricultural areas of Spain.The Costa takes its name from the sub-tropical climate which enables the cultivation of exotic fruits and crops such as sugar cane, oranges, lemons, custard apples, avocadoes, mangoes and bananas. The marina provides a wealth of water sports and boat excursions including trips over to Morocco.The town's coastal strip includes two main beaches - the busiest being Playa Poniente, which is well-served with tourist facilities, and the quieter Playa Granada. There are also many sheltered coves, rocky inlets and impressive cliff faces along this stretch of coastline making it popular with divers, snorkellers and sailors.For golfers, there's the nine-hole Los Moriscos course eight kilometres west of the town, set amid the exotic fruit plantations and well equipped with a putting green, driving range and good leisure facilities.Other sports available in the area include rock climbing, whitewater rafting, fly surfing and mountain biking.The town is ideally placed for exploring the historic city of Granada (just 40 minutes drive away) with its Generalife Gardens and fabulous Alhambra Palace. The Sierra Nevada mountain range, at 3,000 metres, is a paradise for skiing, snowboarding and mountaineering and is near enough for you to be skiing in the morning and sunbathing back at the beaches in Motril in the afternoon.Motril is only a short drive to the fringes of the Alpujarras, one of Spain's most spectacular regions where ancient villages cling to mountainsides on the southern slopes of the Sierra Nevada. You'd be proud to find a more fascinating day excursion than a trip into the Alpujarras, made famous by former Genesis guitarist Chris Stewart who chronicled his escape from the rat race here in his best-selling "Driving Over Lemons".

Málaga is a port city on southern Spain’s Costa del Sol, known for its high-rise hotels and resorts jutting up from yellow-sand beaches. Looming over that modern skyline are the city’s 2 massive hilltop citadels, the Alcazaba and ruined Gibralfaro, remnants of Moorish rule. The city's soaring Renaissance cathedral is nicknamed La Manquita ("one-armed lady") because one of its towers was curiously left unbuilt.

Ceuta - however small it is - is divided into two zones sliding into one another. To the east, around and near the real peninsula, practically all inhabitants are Spanish, and the feel of everything around you is all Spanish. But as soon as you head west, coming closer to the border area, you spot the first mosques, the women you see more often wear traditional conservative Moroccan clothes. At the very border- even on the Spanish side of it - you have already reached Morocco. But is Ceuta worth the visit? Architecture is indeed little new from what mainland Spain can offer - and there are few landmarks. But is a friendly place, and if you take the time to walk around places like Monte Hacho, there will be a good number of places to check out. The biggest problem with Ceuta is that there are only 20 meters of beach (stone beach). Beyond the moment when Franco launched his attack on Europe- Ceuta has had precious few historical incidents. This might be an explanation for the slightly schizophrenic attitude to the monument that still rests here - nobody has tried to demolish it, yet it has not been attended to. It is highlighted on the tourist map that is handed out to you from the tourist office in downtown Ceuta.

According to legend, Sevilla was founded by Hercules, and its origins are linked with the Tartessian civilization. It was called Hispalis under the Romans and Isbiliyabyh by the Moors. Its high point in its history was following the discovery of America. Sevilla lies on the banks of the Guadalquivir and is one of the largest historical centers in Europe, it has the minaret of La Giralda, the cathedral (one of the largest in Christendom), and the Alcazar Palace. Part of its treasures include Casa de Pilatos, the Town Hall, Archive of the Indies (where the historical records of the American continent are kept), the Fine Arts Museum (the second picture gallery in Spain), plus convents, parish churches, and palaces. In Seville, you will want to visit the old city, with the Cathedral and the GiraldaTowerr at its heart. (You can climb the steps inside the tower for a magnificent view of the City) Very close by are the royal Mudejar palace known as the Alcazar with marvelous gardens and the Santa Cruz quarter, with cramped streets, flowered balconies, richly decorated facades, hidden patios... Other sights not to be missed are, In the old city, the Casa de Pilatos, a large sixteenth-century mansion where Mudejar, Gothic and Renaissance styles blend harmoniously amidst exuberant patios and gardens and, crossing the Triana bridge over the large Guadalquívir river, the lively popular quarter of Triana with charming narrow streets around the church of Santa Ana and traditional ceramic factories.

Whether it’s a Destination Immersion dinner buffet or the Destination Immersion cuisine on the dinner menu, give your dining a little local flavor and enjoy on shore tastes onboard! You will also enjoy a wide variety of nightly selections such as filet mignon with black truffle sauce. With its elegant yet lively dining and renewed décor, it’s easy to see why this restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship. Reservations are not accepted. Choose being seated at a table for two or as part of a larger group of fellow guests.

Aqualina: At Aqualina, you’ll find some of Italy’s most celebrated dishes as well as contemporary inventive cuisine. Start with lobster ravioli, followed by arugula and radicchio with prosciutto chips, and a Venetian seafood platter. You won’t be able to say no to these famous desserts: marsala custard, lemon soufflé, or tiramisu. The chefs love to be inspired, so after an on shore visit to a local market, you can also expect a delectable dish so local, you’ll feel like you’re not onboard anymore.

Prime C: At Prime C, you’re in for more than an array of delectable dining such as steaks cooked to perfection, crab cakes with remoulade, lobster bisque, lamb, game hens and seafood. Last but certainly not least, try the mini cinnamon-sugar donuts with dipping sauces for dessert. Expect a marvelous evening in a warm wood-paneled ambiance with stunning views and lush décor. If the chef has made a visit to a local market while in port, you’ll also have an authentic local dish to look forward to.

Take in the fresh breeze at an outdoor table and relax in the easy and casual atmosphere of the newly renovated Windows Café.
