Skagen is first of all great nature, the oceans and the dunes make a great landscape. The closeness to two oceans makes the weather rough sometimes, but there is always fresh air and we have sunshine most of the time.Dining at the harbor is just great, due to the large fishing harbor you get great, fresh fish and can sit outside the cozy, Skagen-style, buildings. We rented a summer cottage, newly renovated, and had a great time grilling our dinners on the terrace, enjoying a bottle of wine and each other.Skagen is the northernmost point of Denmark, dividing the North Sea and Kattegat, the entrance to the Baltic Ocean. The light in Skagen is famous, a lot of artists come to Skagen to paint pictures, and we visited the Skagen Museum, which has an excellent exhibition of paintings.A must in Skagen is the sunsets over the ocean, never the same, but always fascinating to see the colors changing as the sun sets in the ocean. As the land between the two oceans only is a couple of kilometers wide at Skagen, you can see the sun rise over one ocean and set in the other, a unique experience every time, even after watching it a thousand times.

Situated at the head of the Oslofjord, Oslo is the oldest Scandinavian capital, and features a charming mix of old and new architecture, together with acclaimed museums, parks, and monuments, making it a relaxing and rewarding holiday destination. The highlight of a visit to Oslo is the 13th-century medieval Akershus Fortress, featuring creepy dungeons with dark, damp cells, magnificent banquet halls and ornate staterooms, and a charming chapel that contains the crypts of King Hĺkon VII and Olav V. It was used by the Nazis during WW II as a prison and place of execution but is now occupied by the Norway Resistance Museum, which has a variety of exhibits of Norwegian life under German occupation. The grounds surrounding the fortress are perfect for picnics and relaxation and afford spectacular views of the city and harbor. Norway is famous for its artists, and two of them are celebrated in museums in Oslo. The Munch Museum contains a collection of more than 5000 drawings and paintings by Norway's most famous artist. Munch's most famous painting, The Scream, resides in the National Gallery. Nearby, Vigeland Museum and Park showcases the works of the renowned sculptor Gustav Vigeland amid a beautiful expanse of trees, grass, and ponds. Another artistic attraction is the National Theatre, with its superb rococo hall. Oslo has plenty of luxurious accommodations, excellent restaurants, and charming cafes. The nightlife is numerous and varied, with bars, clubs, and pubs to suit all tastes. A rewarding excursion can be made to the nearby Bygdřy Peninsula, located across the harbour from Oslo. It features a large open-air folk museum, maritime museums housing excavated Viking ships and Thor Heyerdahl's balsa raft Kon-Tiki; restored stave churches; and some pretty beaches. Further afield is the Nordmarka, a wilderness area on Oslo's northern border, and the quaint fishing village of Risor, with its picturesque harbor and island of Stangholmen. International airlines link Oslo with most major European cities, and transportation options into the city are numerous and reliable.

Arendal is a small town on the south coast of Norway. After the geographical boundaries were extended to include four surrounding communities in 1992, the town now is the tenth largest in Norway in terms of population. It was originally called the Venice of Scandinavia because the town was built on seven islands, with a network of canals surrounding it. Most of these have later been filled in, but plans are afoot to reopen some again. The town has several tourist attractions to offer. Apart from the town itself, which is well worth a leisurely guided walk, the main attraction in summer is the sea and the skerries landscape. The harbor area "Pollen" teems with boats and life in the summer, and idyllic swimming beaches or skerry rocks are within easy access.

Haugesund is a young and vibrant town with roots dating back to Viking times. It was the Viking, Harald the Fair-haired, who united Norway as a kingdom. To commemorate his achievement, Norway’s national monument, Haraldshaugen, was erected just north of Haugesund. As with the Vikings, seafaring, and trade symbolizes this coastal region. It was the plentiful shoals of herring along the rugged coastline that led to the development of Haugesund as an important hub for fish export and later as Norway’s leading shipbuilding center. Today, Haugesund is one of Norway’s most popular congress and festival towns. First-class hotels and restaurants combined with a town center hosting several hundred shops and a diverse cultural life that caters to the most demanding tastes create a thriving dynamic region. For pleasure boats, Haugesund is a popular guest harbor where it is possible to sail right into the heart of the town, while at the same time, it is only a few minutes from the wild and scenic Haugalandet countryside.

The beautiful village of Eidfjord is situated at the mouth of the Ejo River at the head of the Eifjord, an arm of the great Hardangerfjord. Behind the village, there are gravel and sand terraces which are 9000-year-old deposits left behind when the great inland ice melted and retreated. Possibly one of Norway's best-known waterfalls, the Vosingfoss, plunges into the Mabodal Canyon from the brink of the Hardanger plateau.

Today we know, however, that Irish monks have stayed in The Faroe Islands a hundred years earlier (727 a.d.).Tórshavn has about 17.000 inhabitants. It may be the smallest capital in the world, but is certainly a town of today.Tórshavn has many points of interest for tourists, such as museums, buildings (churches, etc.), monuments, parks,s and other sites. The thrivinharborur includes also the small promontory Tinganes, the site of the oldest -still active- parliament in the world: Løgtingið.

Whether it’s a Destination Immersion dinner buffet or the Destination Immersion cuisine on the dinner menu, give your dining a little local flavor and enjoy on shore tastes onboard! You will also enjoy a wide variety of nightly selections such as filet mignon with black truffle sauce. With its elegant yet lively dining and renewed décor, it’s easy to see why this restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship. Reservations are not accepted. Choose being seated at a table for two or as part of a larger group of fellow guests.

Aqualina: At Aqualina, you’ll find some of Italy’s most celebrated dishes as well as contemporary inventive cuisine. Start with lobster ravioli, followed by arugula and radicchio with prosciutto chips, and a Venetian seafood platter. You won’t be able to say no to these famous desserts: marsala custard, lemon soufflé, or tiramisu. The chefs love to be inspired, so after an on shore visit to a local market, you can also expect a delectable dish so local, you’ll feel like you’re not onboard anymore.

Prime C: At Prime C, you’re in for more than an array of delectable dining such as steaks cooked to perfection, crab cakes with remoulade, lobster bisque, lamb, game hens and seafood. Last but certainly not least, try the mini cinnamon-sugar donuts with dipping sauces for dessert. Expect a marvelous evening in a warm wood-paneled ambiance with stunning views and lush décor. If the chef has made a visit to a local market while in port, you’ll also have an authentic local dish to look forward to.

Specialty Dining: Guests staying in a suite are welcome to dine any night of the voyage in Aqualina or Prime C at no charge. Guests who have booked a Club Veranda, Club Oceanview, or Club Interior stateroom are subject to a USD 30 per-person cover charge in Aqualina or Prime C.

Windows Café: The best way to see where you are in the world is not by looking at your itinerary, but by checking out the menu at Windows Café! The daily themed dinner often takes its inspiration from the region you are visiting. There’s even a live station made from local ingredients purchased in port: Greek salad made with local feta (Greece), pasta prepared with local mushrooms (Italy), fresh Mussels served with garlic bread (Netherlands). Take in the fresh breeze at an outdoor table and relax in the easy and casual atmosphere of the newly renovated Windows Café. Enjoy an intimate breakfast, lunch, or dinner for two or a lively meal for six with flexible seating options. And speaking of choices, selections change daily. Choose from fresh sushi, stir-fry and pasta, salads, smoked lox and other cold fish, a carving station and of course, desserts.

Room Service: Room service is available 24-hours a day. Order from the full breakfast menu between 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM, and have it delivered at your appointed time. Lunch and dinner room service features a menu of hearty soups, fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, pizzas and desserts.
