Overview

Hotel Description

The Savoy is an iconic London hotel that opened in 1889 and is located on the North bank of the River Thames. The ballet, opera and theater of vibrant Covent Garden are just steps away; with museums and galleries, and the designer shopping of Knightsbridge and Mayfair within easy reach on foot or by taxi. The Savoy offers two distinct styles in the hotel of English Edwardian design or Art Deco style. Enjoy the fine dining options at Kaspar’s Seafood Bar and Grill and the Savoy Grill or experience a sense of British tradition at Simpson’s in the Strand and Knight’s Bar. For cocktail connoisseurs, The Savoy boasts the award-winning Beaufort Bar, which pushes the boundaries of mixology; and the American Bar, the oldest surviving cocktail bar in London. The beautiful Thames Foyer is where The Savoy serves their traditional Afternoon Tea, a custom that remains a British institution. Fresh patisserie, chocolates and bespoke gifts are available for purchase in Savoy Tea and make a stop at the Melba where you can enjoy pastries, coffee, ice cream and more.

The Beaufort Bar:  The Beaufort Bar provides a theatrical, art deco setting in which to enjoy cocktails that push the boundaries. The drink menu is designed to intrigue and excite guests with each drink listed entirely unique to the Beaufort Bar. Character Cocktails, served in era-specific vintage glassware and garnished at the table, pay tribute to four of The Savoy’s most famous personalities. The Impressionist, one of the Beaufort Bars most popular cocktails, arrives at the table with a smoking rose for that element of drama. For guests with more of a taste for sparkling wine, the Beaufort Bar has a selection of vintage and non-vintage sparkling wine by the glass and bottle. The bar itself stands on the hotel’s former cabaret stage, which was graced by such luminaries as Carol Gibbons and George Gershwin. A tradition of live entertainment continues to this day with nightly performances by both renowned and up and coming talent, as well as monthly evenings of cabaret and burlesque.
