Charlotte Amalie is the site of the College of the Virgin Islands and the Museum of the Virgin Islands. In 1672 the Danes founded the first permanent settlement on the site, naming it Amalienborg or Charlotte Amalia, after their queen. It became capital of the American territory of the Virgin Islands in 1917, when the former Danish West Indies were purchased.

In the stately Old Treasury Building, it explores the islands’ colonial past.

Day 8 Port of Call Iles Des Saintes Arrival 8:00am

Overview

Just six miles south of Guadeloupe, these idyllic tropical jewels float like exotic dreams in the azure sea. Of the eight little islands, only two are inhabited, and picturesque Terre-de-Haut is the one travelers visit first. In addition to superb beaches, gorgeous bays, exceptional snorkeling and fascinating historical sites, this romantic island offers a charming village with excellent restaurants, interesting shops and unique art galleries. This relatively little-known French Caribbean hideaway that is invariably compared to St. Tropez before Brigitte Bardot or St. Barth before David Rockefeller. Les Saintes (also known as Iles des Saintes) are perfect for the kind of traveler who relishes unspoiled tropical beauty and the serenity that comes from doing next to nothing on a vacation, but doing it à la française. While Guadeloupe's bustling epicenter, Pointe-à-Pitre, is just a l5-minute plane hop away, it seems continents apart from the eight pristine volcanic dots that comprise Les Saintes. There are about 3,000 inhabitants in the islands. About half of them live on Terre-de-Haut where less than three dozen four-wheeled vehicles travel its roads. There is just one doctor, and his home, designed to resemble a ship's bow, is something of a local landmark. Terre-de-Haut is only three miles long and about two miles wide The five-minute walk from the airstrip to Bourg, the island's sole village, takes you down a bougainvillea-shaded lane lined with tiny brightly-painted houses and past a centuries-old cemetery. The names engraved upon the weathered headstones reflect the island's Breton and Norman ancestry; the conch shells decorating the graveyard honor its sailors lost at sea. The men of Les Saintes are fishermen, reputedly the best in the West Indies, and watching them haul in their filets bleus (blue nets dotted with burnt-orange buoys) can fill an entire morning. On Bourg's main street you still see some of the men in an odd kind of headgear, a flat straw or bamboo platter covered with cloth called a salako. It is patterned after one said to have been brought here ages and ages ago by a seafarer from China or Indonesia. Whatever its origin, the salako is unique to the Iles des Saintes.

Day 9 Port of Call Bridgetown Arrival 8:00am

Overview

On this island of tropical palm-fringed beaches there's an ambiance that ranges from sophisticated (in Bridgetown) to slow-paced. Enjoy an exciting tour of Harrison's cave, filled with underground streams, thundering waterfalls, stalactites and stalagmites.

Day 10 Port of Call Castries Arrival 8:00am

Overview

Castries is the capital and largest city of Saint Lucia, an island country in the Caribbean. The quarter with the same name had a population of 70,000 on 22 May 2013 and stretches over an area of 80 km2 .Castries is in a flood gut and is built on reclaimed land. It houses the seat of government and the head offices of many of foreign and local businesses. The city's design is in a grid pattern. Its sheltered harbour receives cargo vessels, ferry boats, and cruise ships. It houses duty-free shopping facilities such as Point Seraphine and La Place Carenage. Many restaurants offer menus from local to Chinese. Supermarkets and other shopping facilities provide goods. The city is well served by a bus system and taxi service.

Day 11 Port of Call St. John's/Antigua Arrival 9:00am

Overview

Saint John's is the capital of the island nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Located in northwestern Antigua, this is a cove of the Caribbean Sea, a major exporter of sugar, rum, cotton, handicrafts, fiber-made items, ceramics and fabrics. The city is also a tourist destination. St. John's skyline, capital and major city in Antigua and Barbuda, is mastered by the baroque magnificence of the St. John's Cathedral's dome and steeple. These steeples are Antigua's first sight for almost half of all foreign travelers who visit the island nation every year, since they come by boat. There are several sightseeing places in St. John's. This is one of the Caribbean's oldest trade ports, built in the late 17th Century. Other interesting spots are the Old Court House, built in 1747, the ruins of Fort James, harking back to 1703, The Antigua and Barbuda Museum, Marine and Living Arts Museum, Redcliffe Quay, plus several other castles and fortresses built centuries ago for the defense of this strategic enclave. The completion of different hotels and resorts to attend to all cruise liners and other vessels docking in has made St. John's a top-rated hub of shopping malls and good-cuisine restaurants. This is a city throbbing with life, a place where you can spend the day at any of its beautiful beaches and enjoy a bustling nightlife later on.

Day 12 Port of Call Virgin Gorda Arrival 7:30am

Overview

The dramatically shaped island of Virgin Gorda reminded Christopher Columbus of a reclining woman, so he named it Virgin Gorda, the "Fat Virgin." The third largest island of the BVI, Virgin Gorda measures eight and a half square miles. In addition to the sheer beauty of the island, travellers are drawn to Virgin Gorda for its yacht clubs, quiet coves, safe anchorages, and luxury resorts. On the North Sound, the Bitter End Yacht Club, accessible only by water, offers relaxation in an extraordinary, secluded environment. And with its spectacular setting, Little Dix Bay Resort, designed by Laurance S. Rockefeller, has its own spectacular setting. Your privacy is ensured at one of Virgin Gorda's deserted pristine beaches, such as Savannah Bay, Pond Bay, Devil's Bay, Mahoe Bay and Spring Bay. Or visit the most popular natural attraction in the BVI, The Baths, where huge granite boulders create mysterious grottoes, saltwater pools, and a connecting trail that entices visitors to spend a day exploring, swimming, and snorkelling. Explore Virgin Gorda on the rugged trails that run throughout the island, and see the huge variety of unique indigenous plants that thrive in the National Parks at Gorda Peak, Devil's Bay, Spring Bay, and the North Sound. At the nature sanctuary at Little Fort National Park, marvel at the exotic birds as they swoop over the hills and ocean. Not surprisingly, Virgin Gorda has been luring people for centuries. Discover the island's African and Indian heritage; trace its Spanish history at the ruins at Little Fort National Park; observe the British influence in Spanish Town and at the Cornish Copper Mines on the island's southwestern tip, where ruins stand sentinel against the azure sea. Experience the island's exquisite cuisine, a wonderful combination of all its influences, and explore the variety of shops offering local arts and crafts, as well as gifts, resort wear, and souvenirs. Virgin Gorda can also be experienced on a day trip. Spanish Town has its own airport, and a regular ferry runs between Road Town, Tortola, and Spanish Town. Another ferry takes passengers from Trellis Bay on Beef Island to Leverick Bay, the Bitter End Yacht Club and Biras Creek.

Discoveries

Main Dining

Discoveries Restaurant (open seating): Discover the world through dishes and flavors from the places you visit. Whether it's a Destination Immersion dinner buffet or the Destination Immersion cuisine on the dinner menu, give your dining a little local flavor and enjoy on shore tastes onboard! You will also enjoy a wide variety of nightly selections such as filet mignon with black truffle sauce. With its elegant yet lively dining and renewed décor, it's easy to see why this restaurant is the culinary heart of the ship. Reservations are not accepted. It offers an elegant yet lively dining scene with a rotating menu inspired by the destinations on your voyage.

Prime C

Specialty Dining

Aqualina: At Aqualina, you'll find some of Italy's most celebrated dishes as well as contemporary inventive cuisine. Start with lobster ravioli, followed by arugula and radicchio with prosciutto chips, and a Venetian seafood platter. You won't be able to say no to these famous desserts: marsala custard, lemon soufflé, or tiramisu. The chefs love to be inspired, so after an on shore visit to a local market, you can also expect a delectable dish so local, you'll feel like you're not onboard anymore.

Prime C: At Prime C, you're in for more than an array of delectable dining such as steaks cooked to perfection, crab cakes with remoulade, lobster bisque, lamb, game hens and seafood. Last but certainly not least, try the mini cinnamon-sugar donuts with dipping sauces for dessert. Expect a marvelous evening in a warm wood-paneled ambiance with stunning views and lush décor. If the chef has made a visit to a local market while in port, you'll also have an authentic local dish to look forward to.

Specialty Dining: Specialty dining is complimentary for suite guests. For others, there is a $30 per-person cover. Reservations are highly recommended. Due to the popularity of our specialty restaurants and regard for your fellow guests, a $15 late cancellation fee will be charged to your guest folio if a booking is not canceled by noon on the day of your reservation.

Windows Café

Casual Dining

Mosaic Café and Mosaic @ Night: Comfortable and stylish, Mosaic is the place where you'll find your favorite coffee drinks, just the way you like (for an additional fee). Slip into a comfortable seat and sip for a while. The perfect place to start (or end) your day, no matter where you are in the world. This just might become your favorite area on the ship.

The Patio and Swirl & Top: Casual "pool grill" by day, then fine tablecloths and flickering candles will set the mood for a sit-down al fresco dining experience by night. Taste your way around the world with exclusive personalized dishes using local flavors of the places visited on the Destination Immersion® cuisine dinner menu served by professional wait staff. And for a little touch of whimsy, a self-serve frozen yogurt station—Swirl & Top. With a variety of flavors and your choice of toppings, it's the perfect way to cool off during the day or end your evening meal.

Windows Café: The best way to see where you are in the world is not by looking at your itinerary. It's by checking out the menu at Windows Café! This daily themed dinner often takes its inspiration from the region we're visiting—Indian, Mexican, Spanish, Italian. We also create an extra live station made from local ingredients purchased in port: Greek salad made with local feta (Greece), pasta prepared with local mushrooms (Italy), fresh Mussels served with garlic bread (Netherlands). Take in the fresh breeze at an outdoor table and relax in the easy and casual atmosphere of the newly renovated Windows Café. Enjoy an intimate breakfast, lunch, or dinner for two or a lively meal for six with our flexible seating options. And speaking of choices, selections change daily. Choose from fresh sushi, stir-fry and pasta, salads, smoked lox and other cold fish, a carving station and of course, desserts.

Room Service: Room service is available 24-hours a day. Order from the full breakfast menu between 6:30 AM and 10:00 AM, and have it delivered at your appointed time. Lunch and dinner room service features a menu of hearty soups, fresh salads, gourmet sandwiches, pizzas and desserts.
