As a Fourth Generation Winegrower for California's oldest continuously operated family-owned winery, Eric Wente oversees his family's operations which include, in addition to the winery, nearly 3,000 acres of vineyards, an award-winning restaurant, a Greg Norman-designed, Audubon Certified championship golf course, a land and vineyard development company, and a working cattle ranch. Being frequently overseas meeting with importers in Wente Vineyards' international markets, he brings a truly global perspective to the family business. Consequently, Eric is responsible for Wente Vineyards' dynamic expansion into worldwide export markets which began in the early 1980s. Today Wente Vineyards exports to more than 75 countries worldwide and is considered a leader in the export of ultra-premium wines.
During his tenure as CEO, Eric, with the support of the winery's staff, updated Wente Vineyards winemaking practices by implementing innovative techniques and constructing state-of-the-art facilities. Under Eric's leadership, night harvesting; wine presses situated in the vineyards; sophisticated, gentle dejuicing methods; and increased use of oak barrels for aging were all improvements incorporated into a winemaking system that combines the best of the traditional and the modern. From 2005 to 2006, Eric served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Wine Institute, the public policy advocacy association of California wineries. Eric also served as Chairman of the Wine Institute's International Policy Committee, a position which he held for many years. He is also past Chairman of the Research and Education Committee.
Raised at the winery, Eric learned the art of winemaking from his father and grandfather. His interest in modern winemaking methods developed during his studies at Stanford University, where he majored in chemistry, and at the University of California at Davis, where he received a Master of Science degree in food science, specializing in enology.

Ft Lauderdale is a city of islands held together by an intricate web of canals, rivers, bays and waterways hundreds of miles long. Needless to say, boating is a favorite city pastime, whether zooming along on a speedboat, enjoying a fishing charter, or cruising the coastline by yacht. Beautiful homes of every size and style make up the bulk of this primarily residential area. By the beach, a leisurly stroll can be taken along the new landscaping wavewall design of the beachfront promenade. But this city is anything but sedate. Once a spring break hot spot, the town still has an energetic and colorful nightlife. Nearby, charming Laudrdale-By-the-Sea is home to one of the only living coral reefs in the US accesible from shore. Las Olas Boulevard, a shoppers paradise, is the chic new shopping and trendy dining area of downtown. If sports are more your inclination, dozens of golf courses and hundreds of public parks allow you to absorb the great Florida outdoors. Cultural arts are also popular. Water taxis bring theater-goers from throughout the city to the Performing Arts Center on the water.

Overview
San Juan, Puerto Rico's capital and largest city, sits on the island's Atlantic coast. Its widest beach fronts the Isla Verde resort strip, known for its bars, nightclubs and casinos. Cobblestoned Old San Juan features colorful Spanish colonial buildings and 16th-century landmarks including El Morro and La Fortaleza, massive fortresses with sweeping ocean views, as well as the Paseo de la Princesa bayside promenade.

Overview
Philipsburg is the capital of St. Maarten, the Dutch side of the Caribbean island St. Maarten. Beachfront bars line the boardwalk along Great Bay. Voorstraat, or Front Street, has duty-free shops and casinos. The St. Maarten Zoo is home to parrots, monkeys and a playground. St. Maarten Museum displays artifacts from the indigenous Arawak people. The ruins of 17th-century Fort Amsterdam stand on a nearby peninsula.

St. Thomas combines the natural beauty of the islands with a cosmopolitan atmosphere. Charlotte Amalie, the capital of the U.S. Virgin Islands, is one of the most beautiful harbors in the world and the most visited port in the Caribbean. Elegant dining, exciting nightlife, and world-class duty-free shopping are abundant in Charlotte Amalie. The city's reputation as the shopping mecca of the Caribbean draws visitors from all over the region and around the world. A mountainous island, St. Thomas offers stunning vistas in almost every direction. While Charlotte Amalie is full of energy, St. Thomas also provides natural wonders such as the indescribably beautiful Magens Bay and stunning views of the Caribbean from 1,500 feet above sea level. Drake's Seat is particularly famous for its vistas. Sports and activities are abundant on St. Thomas. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the George and Tom Fazio-designed Mahogany Run course. St. Thomas is also well known for its world-class yachting and sportfishing.

Cabarete is famous for having excellent conditions for the sport.
