Traveling with Family: The Condo Advantage
Are you looking to save some money but still have separate rooms for you and your kids with a shared living space? A condo vacation might just be the option you are looking for. Vacationing in a condo can be a very different experience than vacationing in a hotel. Ideal for families who might have different bedtimes, but also want the space to challenge each other to a board game and eat or just sit and talk together. My family and I have discovered that there is a lot of value in staying at a location that has amenities such as full kitchens and multiple bedrooms. Here are a couple of my very favorite condo destinations.
Aston Waikiki Beach Tower on Oahu. Each condominium is individually owned so the decor and furnishings will vary.
Hawaii
Hawaii is magnificent! Every single time I’ve been there it’s been an amazing vacation, with the beaches, the warm weather, and the friendly people. Hawaii is also pretty expensive and by choosing a condo property you can save money. One of the first things we do, after we get settled into the condo, is head towards the local Costco and pick up necessities such as eggs, a case of water, a two-pack of milk, and the Kirkland Signature cashews amongst other things. We save quite a bit of money by eating in rather than eating out every day. (We do still eat out, we are on vacation after all!)

We are big theme park fanatics, so Orlando is a natural destination for family vacations. Staying in a condo off property gives us the flexibility to visit whichever park we feel like visiting each day of our stay. We can start off early with breakfast in the condo and then spend the day at the theme park of our choice. We traditionally eat dinner at the parks because when we get back to the condo after a full day of play we are entirely too exhausted to prepare a full meal and usually grab some light snacks to tide us over until the next day’s breakfast and different theme park adventure. Having fun can be exhausting and totally worth it! We know we’ve done it right if the kids are saying they need a vacation after our vacation.
