Florida's Gulf Coast: Explore the Beauty

The Gulf Coast region of Florida - Opens a dialog is unlike any other region in the United States. Nearly 800 miles of pristine shoreline encompasses this treasured enclave which is home to a myriad of exciting destination offerings. Full of fun for all generations, you’ll feel right at home whether you’re visiting with family, enjoying a beach getaway with friends, or rekindling a romance. Here are a few suggestions when visiting Florida’s Gulf Coast.

The Tampa Riverwalk, is a 2-1/2-mile path that connects you to numerous restaurants and recreational offerings.

    Tampa Bay

The convergence of culture meets modernity: This is what defines Tampa Bay. Rich in history, you’ll find that Tampa Bay checks all the boxes for those seeking international flair when they vacation, but with an American vibe. For instance, take Tampa Bay’s Ybor City. This place oozes Cuban culture and traditions, so much in fact, you can (theoretically) step inside of Cuba without leaving the US while visiting a park at the corner of 8th Avenue and 13th Street, which, for over 60 years, continues to remain property of Cuba. From there, you should peruse the offerings of the Tampa Riverwalk. This nearly 2-1/2-mile path connects you to numerous restaurants and recreational offerings. One thing you should not miss is one of Tampa Bay’s most famous amusement parks: Busch Gardens Tampa Bay! This African-themed amusement park is a favorite for the young and young at heart throughout its 335 thrilling acres. And speaking of thrills, Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is home to 10 phenomenal roller coasters, some of which, including SheiKra, which stands at 200 feet and has a 90-degree vertical drop, were record-breaking coasters when they originally debuted.

Clearwater and its surrounding region are packed with local breweries.

      Clearwater

Just west of Tampa Bay is Clearwater which is a quintessential vacation village. Temperate in climate, Clearwater is a multigenerational destination with many exciting offerings that are popular with locals and visitors alike. Underscoring this point is a full-blown festival with music taking center stage at Pier 60 every evening at sunset! Dining in Clearwater is also a delight with a bevy of amazing local eateries that serve up some of the best BBQ, seafood, and pizzas in the region. And if craft beers appeal to you, Clearwater and its surrounding region are packed with local breweries that take particular care with their signature libations.

St. Petersburg welcomes couples and families alike.

          St. Petersburg

Another one of the Gulf Coast’s most famous cities is St. Petersburg or St. Pete as locals affectionally call it. And it should come as no surprise since its relaxed lifestyle has a “perpetual weekend” vibe all its own (plus, it doesn’t hurt that St. Petersburg holds the title of having the most consecutive days of sunshine, 786 days!). Chocked full of wonderful parks and recreational offerings as well as a vibrant dining scene, St. Petersburg is ideal for couples and families alike. If you’re a fan of the arts, then you’ll be pleased to know that St. Pete was recently named one of the “Best Street Art Cities in the World” as street murals abound. Art lovers will also be happy to find that there are museums dedicated to the works of Salvador Dali and Dale Chihuly.
