Palm Springs: Where the Sun Goes to Vacation

The Historical Allure of Palm Springs
Southern California remains one of the most desired locations to live and vacation. From Los Angeles to San Diego, the temperate climate of the region is what primarily draws people to the region. However, roughly two hours from Los Angeles there is a place which continues to attract those seeking a resort-like atmosphere with plenty of sun and warm temperatures: Palm Springs.
Things to do on Your Vacation
With its varied golf offerings, you’ll be happy to know that you don’t need a golf club membership. Just enjoy an incredibly fulfilling experience while on the links! Cathedral Canyon Golf Club and Escena Golf Club are two of the most popular public golf courses in the region.

If spas are more to your liking, The Spa at Séc-he is a spa experience unlike any other in the region, utilizing the waters of the Agua Caliente Hot Mineral Springs as part of the treatment experience. If you'd like to learn about the significance of the spring and the indigenous peoples of the area, there's a path called "Oasis Trail" between The Spa at Séc-he leading to the Agua Caliente Cultural Museum. It is a Smithsonian-affiliated museum of history and native culture.
Additional Activities Nearby
Auto enthusiasts will find themselves giddy to plan a visit to the BMW Performance Center in Thermal, CA. With the help of a professional driving instructor, you can get behind the wheel of a late model BMW on several different closed-track courses to fully understand why they’re called “The Ultimate Driving Machine".

There’s also plenty of shopping to be enjoyed throughout Palm Springs, but one of the most popular stops is the El Paseo Shopping District in neighboring Palm Desert. This outside mall is filled to the brim with clothing boutiques, items for the home and a variety of restaurants. However, if you are keen to save big while shopping, the nearby Cabazon Outlet Mall is the place to be! While you’re there, you and your family should make time to enjoy and take photos with the larger-than-life Cabazon Dinosaurs, located about 5 minutes from the mall.
Sweet Treats and Tasty Eats
Need some food to fuel your adventures? For many generations, Hadley’s Fruit Orchard in Cabazon, with its farm-style store of dried fruits and gift baskets, has been a popular stop for locals and visitors alike. However, the date shakes at the café are what continues to attract multitudes of people to their location. It’s also widely known in the region that Lappert’s Ice Cream also offers a very popular date shake in addition to their delicious artisanal ice cream offerings and has stores in both Palm Springs and Palm Desert.

While we’re on food, check out the wonderful array of breakfast and brunch items to be enjoyed at Boozehounds - a dog-friendly restaurant and bar! Sherman’s Deli & Bakery provides an exemplary deli experience that is reminiscent of what you might find in New York City. Lastly, Rooster and the Pig offers an eclectic take on Vietnamese cuisine.
There’s so much to see and do in Palm Springs, please be sure to allocate plenty of time to experience all that it has to offer!
