Visiting Vancouver, Canada

Vancouver Canada is known for being the gateway to Canada’s great outdoors. The city has a unique blend of both recreational activities and swanky city life.

Try a variety of delicious food at the Richmond Night Market.

The Richmond Night Market is a unique way to spend the evening. The market opens every weekend at 7 p.m. and stays open until midnight April - October, so be sure to check the exact dates. Arrive hungry as one of the main attractions are the over 100 food vendors, that have everything from sushi to bone marrow to beignets. There are carnival style games and vendors that sell an assortment of treasures, and for the more adventurous, try ziplining over the market. The Richmond Night Market is fun for the whole family and an attraction not to be missed.

Enjoy a walk along the seawall at Stanley Park.

No need to get out of the city to get some fresh air, Stanley Park is an outdoor lover's dream. Scenic trails take you both through the forest of the park and along the 8.8 km seawall. Enjoy views of English Bay and parts of the downtown skyline. There is an abundance to see and learn about while at the park, with options to take a guided tour, buses that allow you to hop on and off at your own leisure or explore on your own. Stanley Park has limitless activities, swimming, an 18-hole putt-putt course, tennis courts and picnic areas as well as other dining options. One of my favorite places to visit in the park are the totem poles with placards that explain their meanings and when they were built. The Vancouver Aquarium is also located inside the park and is the largest in Canada.

          Explore Granville Island Public Market.

Explore Granville Island Public Market, an indoor market featuring produce, collectables and a specific kids market that offers unique experiences tailored to families. Parking can be an issue so as an alternative you can take the aqua bus and be delivered a short walk away from the public market. There is much to see, drink, eat and shop, so it is easy to spend a few hours or even a whole day in Granville.
