You'll see where Calgary began, enjoy a lunch filled with Alberta's signature foods, "time travel" to prohibition times and end the day with a visit to Canada's only National Historic Site dedicated to ranching history of the frontier period that began in 1882. Here is where the city was founded at the mouth of 2 rivers in 1875. During your visit you'll help find fresh herbs for tea from the gardens and make Bannock over a fire with an Indigenous elder. You'll also learn about the early days in the city before hitting the trail like the early settlers did before you.
Eau Claire Distillery
After lunch, knock 3 times to experience an old-time, secret speakeasy and discover how Turner Valley became the center of activity during the Prohibition Era. Sample one of the distillery's signature cocktails. A non-alcoholic version is also available. Junior Adventurers will explore with a local naturalist and learn some "survivor" skills.
Bar U Ranch National Historic Site
Learn all about the history of this National Historic Site and meet the characters that bring it to life.
