For travel beginning September 13th, 2021, the Safe Access O'ahu program will be implemented. This program requires anyone age 12 and older entering certain places of business to provide proof of full vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test result taken within 48 hours of entry into the business along with matching identification. Places of business include and are not limited to: restaurants, bars and gyms (including those located in hotels). For complete details and requirements, visit: Safe Access O'ahu - One O'ahu, https://www.oneoahu.org/safe-access-oahu/#patrons.

Fully Vaccinated Travelers (12 and older): Hawaii will eliminate its pre-travel testing/quarantine requirement for domestic travelers age 12 and older who have been fully vaccinated (15 days after getting their FINAL shot) in the United States. Fully vaccinated travelers must upload their CDC-issued vaccination record card to the state's Safe Travels Program website https://travel.hawaii.gov/. In addition, fully vaccinated travelers must carry their physical CDC-issued vaccination record card with them and present it upon arrival in the State of Hawaii. Photocopies, scanned copies or other reproductions will not be accepted and entry will be denied. Airlines will be checking for the required Safe Travel QR code before departure. Please review the following website for additional information and FAQ: https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel/faqs/. All policies are subject to change and are outside the control of Costco Travel.

Non-Vaccinated Travelers: To avoid a mandatory 10-day quarantine upon arrival on Hawaii Island, Maui, Kauai and Oahu, travelers are required to take an FDA-authorized NAAT test from a CLIA-certified lab no more than 72 hours prior to departure to the island. (Children ages 4 and younger are exempt from the test requirement.) If test results are not available prior to departure to Hawaii, the traveler must remain in quarantine. The State of Hawaii will only accept test results from the Trusted Testing and Travel Partners listed here: https://hawaiicovid19.com/travel-partners/.

More About Waikiki

Overview

Once a playground for Hawaiian royalty, Waikiki has transformed into a first-class resort destination. The first hotel to stake claim in the future development of this popular area was the Moana Surfrider back in 1901. Today this 2.5-mile long beach is the main resort area for guests visiting the Island of Oahu.

More than just a city on the beach, Waikiki has plenty of exciting options to keep visitors entertained. Kalakaua Avenue and Kuhio Avenue are home to high-end shopping, fine dining, and major entertainment venues such as the Waikiki Beach Walk, and the International Market Place. Nearby, the Honolulu Zoo and the Waikiki Aquarium offer a fun and exciting day trip the whole family will enjoy.

Some other noteworthy points of interest in the vicinity include Pearl Harbor, the Honolulu Museum of Art, Iolani Palace, Diamond Head, Nuuanu Pali Lookout, and Hanauma Bay. This collection of stops offers insight into the history and beauty of this bustling beachfront city.
